Program Description: Summertime is back once again, and so, too, is Music Under the Moon at Cincinnati Nature Center. Set against the idyllic backdrop of our Krippendorf Lodge, this summer concert series features a different local band each month. Come for one date or join us for all four. Either way, each show is sure to be high energy and have everyone on their feet! Food, wine, beer, and a signature foraged cocktail will be available for purchase.
Band: Ralph and the Rhythm Hounds
Ralph and The Rhythm Hounds are known for producing some of the city’s finest modern blues and rock music. This one-of-a-kind sound can perhaps be best explained by the fact that the band has been performing together since 2003. Their first album, “Mesmerized,” was released in 2016, followed by the two-song EP “Hole in My Heart” in 2022.
Band members include frontman/vocalist/guitarist Noah Cave, vocalist/guitarist Ralph Cave, drummer John Griffin, and bassist David "Tiny" Enderle, with guest performances by keyboardist Chris Bentley. The band has received such distinguished honors as first place in the 2019 Dayton Blues Challenge and the 2021 Cincy Blues Challenge, and was awarded the right to perform in the 2020 and 2022 International Blues Challenges in Memphis, Tennessee. Say “goodbye” to summer with us as we close out the Music Under the Moon season with Ralph and the Rhythm Hounds!
Note: Doors will open at 6:30 pm. No entry into the venue will be allowed prior to this time.
Event time is from 7 to 10 pm, with music from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.
This event will take place on a covered, outdoor patio, so festivities will take place rain or shine! While this event will go on rain or shine, severe weather will result in a cancellation and full refund. In the event of a cancellation, Cincinnati Nature Center staff will communicate with all registrants by 2 pm the day of the event.
This event is a fundraiser for Cincinnati Nature Center. All proceeds help support Cincinnati Nature Center’s conservation initiatives. Tickets are nonrefundable after purchase.
There will be limited seating available at this event, which is meant to be reserved for those with additional needs. The atmosphere at these events is lively and meant to encourage mingling and dancing.

Will this event take place outdoors?
- Yes. This event will be held outside on the Krippendorf Lodge terrace under a large tent. Because the space is covered from the elements, this event will be held rain or shine. Inclement weather such as lightning or high winds will result in a cancellation. Should weather result in a cancellation, all guests will be notified by 2 pm the day of the event, and a full refund will be issued.
Is this event family friendly?
- No. This event is best suited for adults 21+
Can I bring my pet?
- No. Please leave your furry friends at home for this event. Registered service animals only.
Is parking provided?
- Yes. There is plenty of free parking at Krippendorf Lodge.
Will there be food and drink at this event?
- Yes. There will be a food truck, with food available for purchase, at each event.
Will there be alcohol available for purchase?
- Yes. Beer and wine will be available for purchase for those ages 21+. Guests are welcome to bring water. No outside food or beverages (other than water), please.
Will credit cards be accepted for food and drink purchases?
- Yes. All major credit cards will be accepted, as well as cash.
Will there be seating at this event?
- Yes. There will be some seating available. There will also be high-top tables for standing and socializing. Priority seating will be available for those with additional needs.
Do I have to be a member of the Cincinnati Nature Center to attend?
- No. Nonmembers are encouraged to attend.
