This program is suitable for all ages. Registration required for all adults and children 3 and up. 

Revel in the magic of maple season! Sample maple beer and edible delights, and join in games, crafts, and stories that are sure to be fun for all ages. Highlights of this event will include: 

  • Taste maple syrup that is still warm from the evaporator. Evaporator talks will be held every half hour beginning at 2:15 pm.

  • Sample a local beer made exclusively with Cincinnati Nature Center maple syrup. (Bring your ID to enjoy adult beverages, please!) Join Matthew Utter, High Grain Head Brewer, to chat all things beer.

  • What goes better with maple than bourbon? Beam Suntory will provide a sampling of complementary bourbons. (ID required.)

  • Enjoy tasty treats infused with maple.  

  • Join in games and make-and-take crafts that highlight this magical natural phenomenon. Our five different activity stations are fun for all ages!

  • Stroll through the sugarbush and get up close and personal with our treasured grove of sugar maples. Sap collecting hikes will be held hourly beginning at 2:30 pm. Hikes last 30 minutes.

  • Listen to stories and tales about the rich history of syrup making. 

 

Some food and beverage samples will be available; additional food and drink available for purchase. Cash and credit cards will both be accepted for purchases. 

Please check in for your program at the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd, Milford, OH 45150).

Member adults $12, member children $5; nonmember adults $18, nonmember children $11 (includes daily admission). 

Updated Mask Policy: Masks are required indoors for unvaccinated people (individuals kindergarten and up). Masks are not required indoors for fully vaccinated individuals or for preschool children and younger. Masks are not required outdoors or under pavilions and tents.

Pet Policy for Programs/Events: For the comfort and safety of all guests, no pets are allowed at programs or events. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Therapy animals, whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support, do not qualify as service animals. Cancellation Policy: Please note that tickets are nonrefundable after purchase. Tickets for this event support the mission of Cincinnati Nature Center. This event is rain or shine.

Covid-19 Policies: Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs using consideration of recommendations made by the CDC and local health agencies. Current Covid-19 protocols can be found online on our website. Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs and events based on Covid-19 conditions at the time of the program.

Important Information For All Program Registrants: Please retain your order number or print off/save an electronic copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt. You will need your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program. 

Frequently Asked Questions: 

Will this event be held outdoors?  

Yes! This event will be held almost entirely outdoors. Please bundle up and be prepared for the unpredictable February weather. 

Can I bring my dog?  

No. Service animals only, please. 

Who is the event appropriate for? 

This event is fun for all ages. Bring the whole family to enjoy this special time of year! Only 21+ can enjoy the adult beverages. 

Do I have to stay the whole time? 

No. This event is open house style. You may come any time after 2 pm. There will be plenty to do, so you are free to enjoy the experience at your own pace. 

Is the trail difficult? 

No. Most of this event will take place on flat, even ground. There will be optional activities in the sugarbush which will involve a short hike on easily navigable terrain. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome. 

Do I have to purchase a ticket? 

Yes. Registration is required. 

Will there be parking at this event? 

Yes. Parking at the Nature Center is always free. Please keep in mind, Cincinnati Nature Center will be open to the public on these days. On nice winter days, we experience large crowds. You may have to park in an alternate lot and take a short walk to where the event takes place. Handicapped parking is available close to the event entrance for those in need. 

Can I explore other areas of the Nature Center outside of where the program will take place? 

Yes! The ticket for this event includes daily admission to the Nature Center. We would love it if you enjoyed other parts of our property. Be advised, the Nature Center grounds close at 6 pm in February, so all guests are expected to leave the property by this time. 

Will there be bathrooms on site? 

Yes. There are several restroom facilities on site.
