Dance and sing alongside the fireflies! Grab a picnic blanket and bring the whole family for this night of music under the stars at Long Branch Farm & Trails. Fireflies will light the night as live music fills the summer air. Join in a game or stop by an activity station, feast on dinner from a local food truck, and enjoy a cold beer or wine (21+ only, please). Take a short stroll through the trails and you might just catch our glowing friends in action! Act fast, this is one you don’t want to miss.
Hailing from the back woods of Bloomfield, Kentucky, The Whiskey Bent Valley Boys put on a timeless, energized show, playing everything from ballads, breakdowns, sea shanties, and swamp stomps. This old-time string band plays with an intensity that will have young and old alike stomping their feet!
Please meet at the Creekside Barn at our Long Branch Farm & Trails location (6926 Gaynor Rd, Milford, OH 45122). Parking is limited; please carpool if possible.
Member adult $12 and member child $8; nonmember adult $18 and nonmember child $14.

Where will this event take place?
- This event will take place at Cincinnati Nature Center’s Goshen location, Long Branch Farm & Trails, about twenty minutes from our main location in Milford. The address for this property is 6926 Gaynor Rd., Goshen, OH 45122.
Can I bring my dog?
- No pets are permitted. Service animals only, please.
Do I have to purchase a ticket?
- Yes. Registration is required. We do expect this event to sell out.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
- Yes. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. Please, no glass. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL PERMITTED. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at food trucks.
Will there be seating at this event?
- No. There is no seating at Long Branch Farm & Trails. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnic blankets. There is plenty of grass available to spread out on.
Do I have to be a Cincinnati Nature Center member to attend this event?
- No. Typically, Long Branch Farm & Trails is only open to Cincinnati Nature Center members. However, this is a special event, and there will be staff members at the gatehouse admitting all Firefly Fiddle Fest ticketholders.
Will this event take place outside?
- Yes! This event will be held outdoors and will go on rain or shine. Inclement weather such as lightning or high winds will result in a cancellation. Should weather result in a cancellation, all guests will be notified by 12:00 pm the day of the event, and a full refund will be issued.
What will be offered at this event?
- This event will feature live music from a local band. There will also be drop-in style activity stations, and games like cornhole and giant Jenga. Guests are also welcome to bring their own games and activities. A designated section of our trails will be open for self-guided hikes to observe the fireflies. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Beer, wine, and other beverages will be for sale; please bring your ID to enjoy adult beverages. There will also be food trucks selling food and desserts.
How long will the music last?
- The event will go from 6-10 pm, with the band playing from approximately 7-9 pm.
Will there be parking at this event?
- Yes. There is parking available at Long Branch, however, we strongly encourage carpooling to minimize the number of cars on the property.
Can I explore the trails during this event?
- There will be one section of trails open for hiking near the event. Otherwise, the trails will be closed for hiking. We encourage guests to come back during our normal business hours to enjoy an extended hike on the trails.
Will there be bathrooms on site?
- Yes. There are restrooms with composting toilets available at Long Branch & Trails.

Pet Policy for Programs/Events: For the comfort and safety of all guests, no pets are allowed at programs or events. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Therapy animals, whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support, do not qualify as service animals. Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. All programs continue, rain or shine. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
Covid-19 Policies: Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs using consideration of recommendations made by the CDC and local health agencies. Current Covid-19 protocols can be found online on our website. Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs and events based on Covid-19 conditions at the time of the program.
Media Release: All participants (18 and older) associated with this transaction grant permission to Cincinnati Nature Center to utilize images, likenesses, actions, or statements in any form taken during a visit to the Nature Center or virtual presentation for the purpose of promoting the Nature Center in perpetuity.
