Other Event Highlights

  • Join an interactive sugarbush sap collecting hike. Hikes depart from the sugarhouse every half hour between 2:00 – 6:30 pm. Hikes conclude with a warm, fresh sample of maple syrup while you visit the steaming evaporator in the sugarhouse.
  • Watch ancient ingenuity at work as glowing hot rocks are used to cook down maple sap. Hear the sugar tales of early settlers in Abner Hollow Cabin.
  • Discover how everything from hummingbirds to butterflies to squirrels use maple sap.
  • Tap into an interactive challenge. Consider the question “what is maple sugar worth?” as you plan a heist and assemble a dream team of co-conspirators. There are separate but parallel scenarios for adults as well as for families with younger children.
  • Harvest new ideas for cooking with maple syrup during “maple syrup isn’t just for pancakes” talks.
  • Hear how Matthew Utter, head brewer and co-founder of HighGrain Brewing, crafted the bourbon-barrel aged maple brown ale for Maple on Tap.
