Saturday Nature Squad-Youth Nature Discovery Program (Fall 2020)

We are sorry. This program is SOLD OUT. Please contact registrar@cincynature.org to be placed on the waitlist. We will contact you only if space becomes available.

Registration closes on September 10 at noon.  Specially designed for ages 5-13 years. Children will be split into smaller, age-appropriate groups upon arrival. Preregistration is required for all children and includes the full series.

Program participants will meet on one Saturday a month from 9:30 am - 12 pm at our Rowe Woods Visitor Center's Auditorium for four total Saturdays.

Program dates included in series:

• September 12 - Insect Hunt

• October 10 - Traveling Seeds

• November 14 - Hunkering Down

• December 12 - Winter Walk

Join our squad of fellow nature enthusiasts, and each month we’ll discover the wonders of the natural world together! Guided by passionate program leaders and surrounded by other youth who love the outdoors, children will have hands-on experiences in nature and explore seasonal changes on this monthly adventure.

What to bring: Please bring your own masks. In accordance with Gov. DeWine’s updated K-12 mandate, all children grades Kindergarten and up should bring a mask to their program that is easy for them to put on themselves. Since hiking and active exploration will be main elements of our programs, children of all ages will be allowed to keep their masks off during these outdoor activities. These activities fall into the “exercise” category in the order and are permissible without masks in K-12th grade educational settings when outdoors. Children should still be prepared to wear masks when:

  • inside any building (ex: using restrooms, inside Visitor Center during an unanticipated thunderstorm, etc.)
  • passing other hikers on the trails who are not a part of the program.
  • engaging in tranquil or sedentary activities and are not able to consistently be spaced 6 feet apart (ex: choosing to sketch or pond dip next to a friend instead of 6 feet apart).

Members $85; nonmembers $100 (includes daily admission). Preregistration is required and price includes all dates in the series.
