Maple Tree Tapping Day

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday January 11

1:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

Preregistration required.  Most appropriate for adults or interested children ages 8 and up with adult.

Program participants meet in the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location.

Help us tap the trees as we start the sugaring season. Head out into the sugarbush with a maple guide to learn the ins and outs of tree identification and tapping all while drilling holes, setting taps, and hanging sap buckets. We’ll have hot cocoa and a fire to warm up. This is a great experience but also serves as a how-to instructional class for those wishing to tap trees at home.

What to bring: Please bring your own mask. Whether indoors or outdoors, masks are required for all adults and children in Kindergarten through 12th grade at all Cincinnati Nature Center programs. Masks are to be worn outside when one cannot consistently be spaced 6 feet apart. Masks are also required to be worn while inside all facilities (for example, Rowe Visitor Center, restroom, etc.).
