Preregistration is required for all students/children participating.  Adult chaperones/parents need not register.  However, all students must have adult supervision for this program.

Program participants should meet at the Rowe Visitor Center Auditorium at our Rowe Woods location.

Delve into the science and lore of turning sap into sweet maple syrup. This program includes a guided hike in the sugarbush, a look into the Native American origins of sugaring, and a visit to the Sugar House. Homeschool students will tap a tree with a hand drill, help with sugaring work, and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator. This program takes place outdoors, regardless of the weather. Recommended age range: 5 and up. Upon arrival, students ages 10 and up will have the option of joining a group specifically geared towards older students.

Length of hike and terrain: Under one mile on fairly level paths. Snow/mud may make stroller usage difficult.

Member $7; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission). 

 

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.

Important Information For All Program Registrants:  Please retain your order number or print off a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt.  You will need your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
