Preregistration is required for all students/children participating. Adult chaperones/parents need not register but should attend with their child. Suitable for 2nd-5th grade equivalent, but older and younger siblings may attend as well.
Students participants should meet in the PlayScape Pavilion at our Rowe Woods location with a parent/designated adult.
With a naturalist, students will hit the trail to observe examples of food chains and webs, ecosystem interactions, niches, and adaptations specific to “eat or be eaten.” We’ll explore the pond, field, and forest, and learn about the physical and behavioral adaptations of plants and animals in each.
Please bring your own mask. Whether indoors or outdoors, masks are required for ages 10 and up at all Cincinnati Nature Center programs. Masks are to be worn outside when one cannot consistently be spaced 6 feet apart. Masks are also required to be worn while inside all facilities (for example, Rowe Visitor Center, restroom, etc.).
Preregistration required Members $7 per child; nonmembers $11 per child (includes daily admission).
As this program will be meeting outdoors to ensure social distancing, it will be run as a “fair weather program.” Extreme weather like severe storms will cancel this program. Nature Center staff will communicate the status of this program via email by 8 am on the morning of the event.
Designated overseer: If a parent is unable to attend an event, the child may attend a program with an adult designated to oversee the experience of the child (for example: grandparent, another homeschool parent, etc.). We request that one adult oversee no more than six children.
*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.
Important Information For All Program Registrants: Please retain your order number or print off a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt. You will need your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs and events in accordance with current guidelines outlined by the CDC and local health agencies. The status or format of programs may change based on COVID-19 best practices and conditions at the time of the program. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
