First Explorers Spring 2017

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday February 25

9:30 AM  –  11:30 AM

Registration opens on December 1st at 9 AM.  Preregistration is required for all children participating.  Children must be potty trained.

This program is for children ages 3-4 and registration includes all four dates for the program:

February 25, Maple Syrup - Hike through the wintery forest to discover sap flowing from maple trees.  Experience collecting sap and learn how sap is then turned into maple syrup.

March 18, Secrets of Spring - Compare, contrast, and predict the changes that will occur as winter turns to spring.  While outdoors children will search for signs of new and returning life.

April 8, Exploring Soil - Get a little muddy, as we dig to investigate what is above and within the soil.  On our hike we will search the forest for soil-dwelling creatures and creatures hiding in plain sight.

May 20, Birdwatching - Take part in a citizen science project as we check bird boxes and record our findings.  We will then become researchers as we try our hand at making nests from materials gathered outside.

Members $48; nonmembers $68. Preregistration required and includes full series.
