Preregistration is required for everyone. Adult chaperones/parents must register and should attend with their child. Suitable for 5th grade equivalent and older, but older and younger siblings may attend if they are registered and paid. This program is designed for homeschoolers/virtual learners.
Students participants should meet at the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location with a caregiver/designated adult.
Experience the process of producing liquid gold from maple sap from the very beginning! Experience how we tap trees and learn how we’re measuring the health of our maples with community science. Program will include the use of some power tools with adult supervision and simple measuring equipment.
What to wear/bring: Please dress for the weather as this program will take place outside. Bring a water bottle and a mask.
Members $7; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission). All registrants require payment as all registrations are counted toward the maximum number of participants. Participation is limited.
Designated overseer: If a parent/caregiver is unable to attend an event, the child may attend a program with an adult designated to oversee the experience of the child (for example: grandparent, another homeschool parent, etc.). We request that one adult oversee no more than six children.

Mask Policy: Please bring your own mask. Whether indoors or outdoors, masks are required for all adults and children in Kindergarten through 12th grade at all Cincinnati Nature Center programs. Masks are to be worn outside when one cannot consistently be spaced 6 feet apart. Masks are also required to be worn while inside all facilities (for example, Rowe Visitor Center, restroom, etc.).
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the first scheduled program date. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the first scheduled program date.
Inclement Weather Policy: All programs will be held outside. In the event of thunderstorms or severe weather predicted for program times, Cincinnati Nature Center will cancel the program two hours in advance, as these are outdoor-only programs. Severe weather make-up days are detailed on the registration page for each program. Our weather make-up dates may be utilized for any program canceled due to weather. If we cannot reschedule your program, it will be refunded.
Important Information For All Program Registrants: Please retain your order number or save a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt. You may be asked for your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs and events in accordance with current guidelines outlined by the CDC and local health agencies. The status or format of programs may change based on COVID-19 best practices and conditions at the time of the program. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
