Lisa Hildebrandt, a student of the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, and long-time foraging group member will share three plants she uses regularly in her household:

  1. Broadleaf plantain (Plantago major), the “bandaid plant” that’s now a common weed
  2. Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), the battlefield bleeding stopper that was once carried by soldiers as they marched into conflict
  3. Comfrey (Symphytum officinale), whose scientific name means “to make grow together or bind,” which speaks to the plant’s long use for healing

Lisa will showcase how to make:

  • Poultices for bug bites
  • Healing infused oil
  • Yarrow powder for first aid

As Lisa says, “These aren't new fangled treatments.  They have deep roots in many healing systems, and they prove effective time and time again.”

We’ll send you home with herbs, infusing oil, and inspiration.

Be prepared for an outdoor class that involves collecting and light hiking.

This program meets at the Creekside Barn at our Long Branch Farm & Trails location (6926 Gaynor Rd, Goshen, OH 45122).
