Foraging for Wild Edible Plants at LBFT: Spring Greens

A program for adults. Preregistration required.

Program participants meet at the White Creekside Barn at Long Branch Farm & Trails 6926 Gaynor Road, Goshen, OH 45122. (Get Directions)

Connect to the natural world in a new way. Learn to identify, appropriately harvest, safely process, and utilize spring’s flush of nutritious wild greens. We’ll head out for garlic mustard, wild onion, dandelion, stinging nettles, cattail shoots, cress, chickweed, violets, dandelions, redbud leaves and/or flowers, and many more. Beginners welcome.

Bring your foraging tools (clippers/scissors, a bag/basket in which to put harvestables), as well as personal drinking water.

Member adult $10; nonmember adult $19 (includes daily admission).

What to bring: Please bring your own mask. Whether indoors or outdoors, masks are required for all adults and children in Kindergarten through 12th grade at all Cincinnati Nature Center programs. Masks are to be worn outside when one cannot consistently be spaced 6 feet apart. Masks are also required to be worn while inside all facilities (for example, Rowe Visitor Center, restroom, etc.).

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. Programs continue, rain or shine.

Important Information For All Program Registrants:  Please retain an electronic copy of your order number or save/print off a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt.  You may be asked for your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program. 

Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs and events ​in accordance with current guidelines outlined by the CDC and local health agencies. The status or format of programs may change based on COVID-19 best practices and conditions at the time of the program. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
