Tools of the Sugar House - An Up Close Experience for Preschoolers 2/18/17

9:00 AM  –  10:00 AM

Preregistration required for all adult and child participants.

Program participants should meet at the Rowe Woods Outdoor Learning Center (near Krippendorf Lodge).

While the evaporator is still cold, preschoolers and their adults are invited to drop in for an up close look at the maple syrup evaporator and sugaring tools like skimmers, filters, and thermometers. Participants will be able to look inside the sap storage tanks, try on the fire gloves, help set up the Native American rock boiling demonstration, stand on a stool to look inside the evaporator and help prepare the materials to fire up the evaporator for the day.

Free; nonmembers pay daily admission.

 

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.

 

Important Information For All Program Registrants:  Please retain your order number or print off a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt.  You will need your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
