Searching for Voles, the "Wild Hamsters" 12/1/12018

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday December 1

9:30 AM  –  11:00 AM

Preregistration required.

Program participants meet in the Pine Room of our Rowe Woods Visitor Center.

Voles are mouse-sized, bear-faced rodents that eat plants and are everywhere but are seldom seen. On our naturalist-led hike, we’ll learn to identify signs of voles while we explore how this small hamster-like mammal has such a huge impact. With luck, we’ll be able to see a live vole up close. We’ll also touch on how to prevent vole damage to your trees and plants.

Members $5; nonmembers $10 (includes daily admission).

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.
