Recommended Audience: This program is designed for adults. However, interested youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.
Program Description: Fall is an invitation for us to pause from our busy lives and enter into the rhythms of the season. This guided poetry walk along the lake will draw us to reflect on the wonder and change of our surroundings. We’ll awaken to the beauty of autumn and hear poems inspired by Rowe Woods written and read by local poet Kassi Wilson. Kassi will provide invitations for us to dial into nature’s gentle rhythms. Participants will have the option to write their own autumn-inspired poem. Hot cocoa will be served afterwards.
Program Guide: Local Poet and Cincinnati Nature Center member Kassi Wilson has cultivated a passion for the outdoors and seeks to inspire others to connect more deeply with nature through the art of poetry to awaken our experience of the natural world. Kassi’s published collection of poems is titled Growing Gills: Poems.
What to expect: This walk will take place entirely outdoors on a trail that loops around the lake. The trail is mostly flat—an easy to moderate hike. There are a few small inclines uphill but nothing too strenuous. The walk is roughly 1.5 miles. We’ll be walking at a slow pace: pausing, standing, observing, and listening.
How to dress: We’ll be walking on the trails and moving at a slower pace. Wear layers and/or bring a jacket. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes. This program runs rain or shine.

Where to Meet: Registered program participants should meet outside the front doors of Rowe Visitor Center at our Rowe Woods location.
Cost: Member adult $9; nonmember adult $19 (includes daily admission).

Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. All programs continue, rain or shine. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
Program Policy: Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs based on conditions at the time of the program.
Media Release: All participants (18 and older) associated with this transaction grant permission to Cincinnati Nature Center to utilize images, likenesses, actions, or statements in any form taken during a visit to the Nature Center, Nature Center sponsored event, or virtual presentation for the purpose of promoting the Nature Center in perpetuity.
