Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Course Online Summer 2020

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday June 2

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

Please note: OSU Extension has postponed, canceled, or is offering virtually all face to face events planned through July 6. For this reason and because of the current Ohio Stay Safe at Home Order, we are switching our summer OCVN course to a virtual format.

Hosted By Cincinnati Nature Center in collaboration with The Ohio State University

The popular OSU Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist course will be offered virtually this summer on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in June and July from 6-8 pm. Cost is $260 and includes training manual and certification fees to Ohio State University. The mission of the OCVN program is to promote awareness and citizen stewardship of Ohio's natural resources through science-based education and community service. The program emphasizes natural resource and environmental education coupled with volunteer service. Participants in the OCVN program receive 30 hours of live, online instruction. The program also requires readings and outdoor homework assignments. Upon completing the OCVN course, participants earn certification after providing 40 hours of volunteer service at any Ohio organization with a compatible program mission. For more information contact Connie O’Connor at coconnor@cincynature.org.

Spaces in the course will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are available to adults and mature teens 16 and up. Application deadline is Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
