Frequently Asked Questions:

Will it be dark during this program?

  • Yes! The sun sets around 6:30 at this time of year. We will do our best to illuminate the trails to create a “not scary” vibe, but participants are encouraged to bring flashlights or headlamps to light the way. Just keep them out of your friend’s eyes, please!

What ages is the event appropriate for?

  • This event is geared towards younger children and their adult caregivers. While your older children are welcome to come, please note that it is best-suited for younger children.

Is the trail difficult?

  • No. This event will traverse about one mile of trails. The path will consist of relatively flat, even terrain. It is stroller and wheelchair accessible.

Can I bring my dog?

  • No. Service animals only, please.

Do I have to purchase a ticket?

  • Yes. Preregistration is required for ages 3 years and up. 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket.

Will there be parking at this event?

  • Yes. There is plenty of parking available, but as always, we encourage participants to carpool.

Can I explore other areas of the Nature Center outside of where the program will take place?

  • No. Except for the area where the event is taking place, Cincinnati Nature Center’s grounds will be closed during this event. We would love to see you back during our regular business hours for more exploration of our property.

Will there be bathrooms on site?

  • Yes. Our Krippendorf Lodge restrooms will be open.

Will there be candy available for the children?

  • There will be some candy and sweet treats at this event, but it is not a trick-or-treat experience. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks for your children. Please help us keep our trails clean by being mindful of trash and crumbs!
