Spiders, bats, and bones, oh my! Don your costumes for this non-spooky woodland Halloween adventure. Highlights of this program include:

  • Create a make-and-take nature-inspired Halloween craft.
  • Discover the nighttime animals of the forest through games and activities.
  • Roast a marshmallow and share in a song or two.
  • Craft an edible sweet treat that is reminiscent of nature’s creepy crawly friends.
  • Gaze at the stars and the moon, if the Halloween skies permit!
  • Stroll through the magical, moonlit Nature PlayScape.

Please meet at our Rowe Woods location for this program. Maps will be available upon arrival. The check-in location is outside of the Rowe Visitor Center.

Members $8; nonmembers $8 (includes daily admission).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will it be dark during this program?

Yes! The sun sets around 6:30 pm at this time of year. We will do our best to illuminate the trails to create a “not scary” vibe, but participants are encouraged to bring flashlights or headlamps to light the way. Just keep them out of your friend’s eyes, please!

What ages is the event appropriate for?

This event is geared towards children 12 and below and their adult caregivers.

Is the trail difficult?

No. This event will traverse about one mile of trails. The path will be relatively flat, even terrain. It is stroller and wheelchair accessible.

Can I bring my dog?

No. Service animals only, please.

Do I have to purchase a ticket?

Yes. Registration is required.

Yes. Our Visitor Center and PlayScape restrooms will both be open.

Will there be candy available for the children?

There will be some candy and sweet treats at this event, but it is not a trick-or-treat experience. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks for your children. Please help us keep our trails clean by being mindful of trash and crumbs!
