Natural History Skills for Homeschool Families - Learn Trees by Their Leaves and Seeds 9/20/2017

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday September 20

10:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

Ages 4-12 with an adult caregiver.  Preregistration is required for all students/children participating.  Adult chaperones/parents need not register.  However, all students must have adult supervision for this program.

Program participants should meet at the Auditorium at our Rowe Woods location.

Your family can learn to identify the most common native trees in our area while you help take care of the forest. This hands-on class will take place entirely on the trail. We’ll touch on the parts of a leaf, basic terms and how to use a tree guide while we learn the names of trees. We’ll also explore how leaves are the “power plant of the tree” and fall color change while we gather tree seeds to help with the Nature Center’s conservation efforts. Upon arrival, students will have the option of joining a group specifically geared to their level.

Members $6 per child; nonmember $10 per child (includes daily admission).

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.
