Preregistration required for this offsite program designed for adults.
Join us in exploring East Fork Lake, a local birding hotspot where over 250 bird species have been sighted in the last 30 years! Our trip will focus on migrating waterfowl and provide participants an opportunity to practice field skills for open areas and large bodies of water. We’ll use spotting scopes in our search for ducks, geese, grebes, loons, gulls, and raptors. Identification of aquatic birds from a longer distance requires skills that are not typically used in woodland birding. We’ll visit several locations around the lake, including the area below the dam which contains grassy field and open, sparsely wooded habitat (weather permitting). This trip should build key field skills while increasing your ability to identify birds not commonly seen in woodland or backyard habitat. We’ll be offering a one-hour bonus walk afterward.
Participants will meet at East Fork Lake for this program. Program registrants will be notified by email of the meeting location.

Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. All programs continue, rain or shine. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
Program Policy: Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs based on conditions at the time of the program.
