This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday October 30

2:00 PM  –  3:30 PM

Preregistration required for this program designed for adults or interested children (who can listen like an adult) with an adult caregiver.

Are you mad about what astronomers did to Pluto? Do you still think it’s a planet? Chances are you're a grown up. While kids get excited about everything they are learning in astronomy, they are tired of hearing about Pluto. This talk will help kids to break it to you—that Pluto is not a planet—in a way even you can understand. Based on Dean Regas’ new book, he'll follow the history of Pluto, how cool of a world it is, and why it's not a planet.

Dean Regas’ new book, How to Teach Grown-Ups About Pluto: The cutting-edge space science of the solar system, will be available for purchase before and after the program.

Please meet in the auditorium of Rowe Woods Visitor Center at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd., Milford, OH 45150).

About the speaker: Dean Regas has been the Astronomer for the Cincinnati Observatory since 2000. He is a renowned educator, author, national popularizer of astronomy, and an expert in observational astronomy.

Member adult $10; nonmember adult $20 (includes daily admission).
