Preregistration is required. Recommended for 5 years and up with a caregiver. Adult chaperones/parents must register and should attend with their child. Older and younger siblings may attend if they are registered and paid. This program is designed for homeschoolers/virtual learners. (2 years and under are free.)
Join a naturalist for this winter adventure to find some of our native maple trees and learn about how the process of photosynthesis is involved with the production of maple syrup, which we call “liquid sunshine.” Help with sugaring work and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator.
What to wear/bring: Please dress for the weather as this program will take place outside and will include some off-trail hiking. Bring a water bottle.
Students participants should meet at the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location with a caregiver/designated adult. Look for the “Sap Hikes Start Here” sign. Dress for the weather; this program takes place completely outdoors.
Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission). Participation is limited.

Pet Policy for Programs/Events: For the comfort and safety of all guests, no pets are allowed at programs or events. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Therapy animals, whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support, do not qualify as service animals. Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. All programs continue, rain or shine. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
Program Policy: Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs based on conditions at the time of the program.
Media Release: All participants (18 and older) associated with this transaction grant permission to Cincinnati Nature Center to utilize images, likenesses, actions, or statements in any form taken during a visit to the Nature Center, at a Nature Center sponsored event, or virtual presentation for the purpose of promoting the Nature Center in perpetuity.
