Once upon a time, the harvest moon was a time for humans to gather crops under the bright light of the final full moon of the summer. Celebrate this joyous time with us with an evening of foraging, food, and drinks.
At this program, we’ll:
- Feast on light bites made with native, local fruits
- Enjoy a cold glass of wine or a local beer
- Hike to gaze at the moon
- Hunt for pawpaws in the pawpaw grove
- Bask in the warmth of the waning summer nights on the Krippendorf Lodge’s covered outdoor terrace
There will be appetizers offered at this program, made from a number of locally-foraged and sourced ingredients. While we cannot promise to accommodate every food allergy or dietary restriction, we will certainly try our best. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction that you would like our staff to know about, please email Laura Weinel at lweinel@cincynature.org no later than Monday, September 5 at 5:00 pm.
Please note:
- This program designed for 21+; please have your ID available.
- This program takes place outdoors; dress for comfort and the weather, in layers for warmth.
- Please wear appropriate footwear to participate in the easy, short hike down relatively flat terrain. The optional hike is approximately 1/2 mile in length.
Participants should meet at the Krippendorf Lodge at our Rowe Woods location (4949 Tealtown Rd, Milford, OH 45150).
Member adult $30; nonmember adult $40 (includes daily admission).

Pet Policy for Programs/Events: For the comfort and safety of all guests, no pets are allowed at programs or events. Service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are welcome. Therapy animals, whose function is to provide comfort or emotional support, do not qualify as service animals. Cancellation Policy: Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. All programs continue, rain or shine. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued.
Covid-19 Policies: Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs using consideration of recommendations made by the CDC and local health agencies. Current Covid-19 protocols can be found online on our website. Cincinnati Nature Center may update the status or format of programs and events based on Covid-19 conditions at the time of the program.
Media Release: All participants (18 and older) associated with this transaction grant permission to Cincinnati Nature Center to utilize images, likenesses, actions, or statements in any form taken during a visit to the Nature Center, a Nature Center sponsored event, or virtual presentation for the purpose of promoting the Nature Center in perpetuity.
Important Information For All Program Registrants: Please retain your order number or print off/save an electronic copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt. You will need your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
