Full Moon Walk: Dog Day Full Moon at Rowe Woods

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday August 15

8:30 PM  –  10:00 PM

Preregistration required. A program recommended for adults and children 8 and older with a caregiver. Please, as with all of our programs, do not bring dogs.

Program participants should meet at the Kiosk in front of the Rowe Woods Visitor Center.

The name “dog day” comes from an ancient belief that Sirius (the dog star) was responsible for adding extra heat to the Earth. On this full moon hike, we’ll explore Native American and Old World stories about the astronomical dog star and the earthly dog family creatures that inhabit our area. (While the word dog is in the title, which refers to the heat of the summer, please keep your dog at home!)

Members $5; nonmembers $10 (includes admission).

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event. Programs are rain or shine.

Important Information For All Program Registrants:  Please retain an electronic copy of your order number or save/print off a copy of the email acknowledgement as a receipt.  You may be asked for your order number from your transaction to gain entry at the gate/to attend your program.
