Family Field Trip: Maple Sugaring 2/24/2021 12:30 pm

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday February 24

12:30 PM  –  2:00 PM

Preregistration is required for everyone. Adult chaperones/parents must register and should attend with their child. Suitable for ages 5 and older, but older and younger siblings may attend if they are registered and paid. This program is designed for homeschoolers/virtual learners.

Students participants should meet at the Outdoor Learning Center at our Rowe Woods location with a caregiver/designated adult.

Join a naturalist on the trails for a hike into the sugarbush with your family to collect “liquid sunshine” and see how it’s turned into sweet maple syrup. Look at how sugaring has changed throughout history and visit the Sugar House. Help with sugaring work and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator.

What to wear/bring: Please dress for the weather as this program will take place outside. Bring a water bottle and a mask.

Members $7; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission). All registrants require payment, as all registrations are counted toward the maximum number of participants. Participation is limited.

Designated overseer: If a parent/caregiver is unable to attend an event, the child may attend a program with an adult designated to oversee the experience of the child (for example: grandparent, another homeschool parent, etc.). We request that one adult oversee no more than six children.
