Igniting Ecological and Social Change (Online)

What does it take to make a difference locally, or to build a social impact idea to scale? At this live, virtual presentation, Dr. Myers, co-founder of Project Dragonfly, will share how inquiry-driven learning and shared action lead to a better, more collaborative, just, and sustainable future.

Co-founded by Dr. Chris Myers, Lynne Born Myers, and a creative team at Miami University, Project Dragonfly has become a global leader in environmental education reform, with graduate programs, learning media, public exhibits, and community partnerships across the U.S. and worldwide. Building on principles of participatory learning, Project Dragonfly students are opening new frontiers in community innovation and education. They work alongside nomadic herders saving wild horses in Mongolia, citizen scientists increasing pollinator diversity in the Bronx, Maasai women pursuing equity and sustainability in Kenya, conservationists leading the recovery of burrowing owls in California, and monks applying mindful practices to environmental practice in Thailand.  Dr. Myers will share examples from across diverse settings that demonstrate how inquiry-driven learning and shared action lead to a better, more collaborative, just, and sustainable future. What does it take to make a difference locally, or to build a social impact idea to scale? Dr. Myers will share tips that will inspire all of us to be brave and bold as we support the environment and one another.
