Bees in Your Backyard
Native bees, essential for healthy ecosystems, are usually gentle, solitary, and under-appreciated by homeowners. Dr. Olivia Messinger Carril, co-author of The Bees in Your Backyard will reveal the charming mysteries of these busy little creatures which provide a critical service as pollinators for so many edible and ornamental plants. Join us at John Whitman Keeler Theater at Cincinnati Country Day as Dr. Carril introduces buzzworthy facts about the bees in your backyard and beyond.
Dr. Olivia Messinger Carril received her PhD in plant biology and has been studying bees and the flowers they visit for nearly 20 years.
Following the lecture, Dr. Cory Christopher, Director of the Center for Conservation will moderate an open discussion between the presenter and the audience. Moving beyond the traditional Q&A, audience members will have the opportunity to network with each other about local initiatives relevant to the topic, and share ways that everyone can contribute.
Free for all. Please register below for a ticket for general seating at Keeler Theater at Cincinnati Country Day School.
