Hosted by Cory Christopher, Director of the Center for Conservation at Cincinnati Nature Center, this popular series promotes science with solutions by sharing information about conservation research and initiatives and by connecting like-minded people who want to help make a difference.

 

The Wood Panel: BIG Ideas on Trees

Join us for this fast-paced, informational session about the largest plants on the planet! Four tree experts will have five minutes each to share their BIG ideas about trees and forests.  The audience will participate along the way with feedback and discussion to make this Conversations a memorable event that will change the way you think about trees and their importance in our lives. 

Meet the Panel

Tom Kimmerer, author of Venerable Trees. “Old growth trees have many lessons to teach us.”

David Burke, Research Scientist, Holden Arboretum. “Trees communicate with and support one another.”

Joe Boggs, Assistant Professor of Entomology, Ohio State University. “Invasive beetles impact our forest infrastructure.”

Scott Beuerlein, Horticulturalist, Cincinnati Zoo. “Trees have significant benefits for human health.” 

 

Free for Cincinnati Nature Center members.  Daily admission fee for nonmembers is included in ticket price.
