This will be a live, virtual class. This class will take place with Zoom meeting platform. Your link to attend the meeting will be sent in a follow up email which will be sent immediately after registration. You do not need the Zoom application to participate. Create a home for native Mason Bees in this family-friendly virtual workshop. Learn where Mason Bees like to live, what they eat, and how their offspring grow so you can attract and take care of your backyard buddies.
After registration, we’ll email instructions on how to pick up your bee house kit at Cincinnati Nature Center in advance of the class.
Each kit contains all of the parts needed to build your bee house and comes with 10 nesting tubes so you’ll have everything you need to get your bee house up and running. All you need is a computer/tablet, a hammer, a Phillips screwdriver, and a place to get loud and a little messy!
The first half of the class will be learning time, and the second half of the class will be a building demo and optional work time. You may stay online for the work time or construct your bee house when it is most convenient for you.
Members $15, nonmembers $15. Fees are per bee house kit; an adult may purchase one kit to work on with children or other members of their household.
*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event and only if the bee house kit has not been picked up. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event or after the bee house kit has been picked up.
Cincinnati Nature Center will run advertised programs and events in accordance with current guidelines outlined by the CDC and local health agencies. The status or format of programs may change based on COVID-19 best practices and conditions at the time of the program. In the event that Cincinnati Nature Center cancels a program, full refunds will be issued
