Intended Audience: This program is appropriate for adults or interested youth ages 10 and up with a parent/caretaker.
Program Description: Have you always wanted to make syrup from the maple trees in your yard? This hands-on how-to workshop is for those wishing to make syrup and will be filled with “sweet” advice. Selection of trees, tapping, sap collection, sap storage, and boiling will be addressed, as well as finishing and canning syrup on a small scale.
Note: This is a hands-on class with a combination of indoor and outdoor time—please dress for cold weather and wet/snowy conditions.
Where to Meet: Program participants should meet in the Rowe Visitor Center’s Auditorium at our Rowe Woods location.
Cost: Members $15; nonmembers $21 (includes daily admission).
