9:00 AM  –  4:30 PM

Preregistration required for this program designed for adults. This program is expected to sell out early. Register today!

Program participants meet in the Center for Conservation's Dornette Room at our Rowe Woods location.

Join us as Sue Milinkovich leads us in depth to learn about abstract photography.  Demonstrations, interactive discussions, practice stations, along with time to process images for a critique will be part of this workshop. You will learn about multiple exposures, panning, zooming and water abstracts.  We will look at ways to capture abstracts without any specialized techniques and how to create abstracts during post-processing.  Come learn some new ways to use your artistic and creative skills to create some fun and exciting photography.  Bring your camera, tripod, different lenses, lens collars, and your computer so you can try out all the different techniques.  Bring a sack lunch, snacks, and drinks to the workshop.  Registration will be limited to 15 participants to allow more one-on-one time with Sue.

About the Instructor:

Susan Milinkovich began photographing with her father when she got her first Brownie camera in elementary school. Her dad also loved photography and gave her the gift of “seeing” a photograph. Both of her parents gave her a love of nature and an appreciation for the beauty to be found in our everyday world. "You don't have to go to some faraway place, there is beauty all around you - you just have to take the time to see it and appreciate it," she says.

She enjoys teaching and sharing her passion for photography with others and gives presentations on composition, macro, close-up, and intimate landscapes, color theory, light, and focus stacking to local camera clubs and at photography workshops at the Great Smoky Mountain Institute at Tremont. She also enjoys teaching one-to-one and helping people develop their skills.

Members: $60; nonmembers $69 (nonmember pricing includes admission).
