Journey on a walk to appreciate and find peace in nature. The beauty of nature inspires joy and wonder. This walk offers an opportunity to learn a simple mindfulness technique that will help you enjoy this and any moment more fully.

About the Guide:Leslie Hanna is a certified mindfulness meditation trainer and coach from Unified Mindfulness. She has practiced yoga and meditation for over 20 years.

What to expect:Mindfulness meditation is attention training that elevates our ability to focus, so that we are “here” in the present moment. We will be standing or sitting on the ground during periods of time at the beginning and end. Consider bringing your own lightweight camp chair or a sit-upon (jacket, towel, etc.). The walk will take place entirely outdoors on trail and will be approximately a half mile (no more than 1 mile). Beginners and experienced meditators alike are welcome.

Minimum age for children attending with an adult: This is an adult class. However, keenly interested youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.

How to dress: We will be out on the trails and moving slowly. Please dress in layers to ensure proper warmth and comfort. This program runs rain or shine.

What to bring: Consider bringing your own lightweight camp chair or a sit-upon (jacket, towel, etc.).

Where to park and meet: Program registrants will meet at Abner Hollow Cabin (near the Nature PlayScape and PlayScape bathrooms) at our Rowe Woods location. After passing the gatehouse, turn right onto Groesbeck Drive. Please park along Groesbeck Drive with the cabin in sight. Head over a little bridge on the walking trail and continue the path towards the cabin.  Feel free to check in with our gatehouse staff before you park if you have questions on this meeting location.
