Gardening for Butterflies and Pollinators 7/14/2019

Preregistration required.  Suitable for adults and interested youth ages 12+.

Program participants meet at the Rowe Visitor Center Auditorium.

Steve Inglish, team leader of Cincinnati Nature Center’s butterfly monitoring program, will take you through the basics of designing your own butterfly garden beginning with site and plant selection. After a brief indoor introduction, we’ll head out to the Pollinator Garden to see examples of butterfly host and nectaring plants, as well as the key habitat requirements and features you’ll need to create your own butterfly garden, which can benefit all pollinators. Handouts provided.

About the instructor:

Steve Inglish is a long time Cincinnati Nature Center volunteer and team leader of the Nature Center’s butterfly monitoring program. He serves as a National Wildlife Habitat Ambassador and is an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. He has delivered pollinator and habitat-related talks for audiences ranging from garden clubs and churches to the Civic Garden Center and the annual Midwest Native Plant Society Workshop.

Members $5 per person; nonmembers $14 (includes daily admission).
