Box Turtle Tracking Experience 8/18/2018

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday August 18

10:00 AM  –  12:00 PM

Preregistration required. Geared for adults or children ages 9 and up with an adult.

Participants should meet on the side porch of the Rowe Visitor Center at our Rowe Woods location.

The box turtle lives on land and can grow to be 100 years old in the wild. Take this rare opportunity to learn more about this seldom seen species as you join students from West Clermont High School on a search for box turtles that have been “tagged” with radio transmitters. See firsthand how telemetry works. These invested students will share insights from this project including how to identify individual turtles and where box turtles go in the winter.

Members $5; nonmembers $14 (includes daily admission).

*Please note that cancellations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the event. No refunds or transfers of fees will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.
